Hello! I'm Kathleen Donson, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in private practice since 2008. I was raised in West Islip, Long Island and I have resided in Pike County since. I have an undergraduate degree from East Stroudsburg University in Sociology with a concentration in Social Work and Criminal Justice. My graduate work was at Marywood University where I graduated with a Master's in Social Work with Honors.
I worked for two years in a residential Diagnostic Program at Kids Peace, then I provided therapeutic services for children, adolescents, individuals and families in a child welfare capacity for over 20 years. I am a certified contracted trainer for the University of Pittsburgh and The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services delivering training on various child welfare topics all across Pennsylvania to child welfare workers , private providers and resource parents from 2005 until the present.
I use Strength Based- Solution Focused strategies and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with an emphasis on collaborative treatment and psycho education for optimal resolution and positive outcomes for clients.
